ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate is a great way to get started with RAW editing. It offers superb organizing facilities for managing a growing image library, and its RAW editing capability is similarly impressive. The layer-based editing tools might require some fine-tuning, and they are unlikely to replace Photoshop as the industry standard for image modification software, but they are still highly capable and usable despite some minor user interface difficulties. Features Of ACDSee Photo Studio
It is a RAW workflow, picture editing, and library organizing tool in one. While it does not yet have a dedicated professional following, it strives to be a full solution for both professional and more casual and semi-professional photographers.
ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2022 Mobile Sync
ACDSee 2022 has embraced the function of the smartphone camera, creating a mobile companion app for iOS and Android. The software is incredibly simple to use, allowing you to submit photographs from your phone directly to your Photo Studio installation.
Wireless syncing is quick and simple, and it’s the quickest way I’ve found to transmit photographs to an editor. The program identified my computer’s Photo Studio installation immediately and transferred data without any complicated pairing or sign-in procedures. It’s always good when stuff like this just works without a hitch.
Very Strong Image Editing
The Develop module is where you’ll handle the majority of your RAW picture editings, such as tweaking white balance, exposure, sharpening, and other non-destructive modifications. This component of the application is, for the most part, extremely nicely done, and I love the multi-channel histogram with quick access to highlight and shadow clipping. You may use brushes and gradients to apply your adjustments to particular sections of the image, as well as to conduct some rudimentary healing and cloning.
As you can see in this outcome of an automatic white balance change, I found that several of their automatic settings were extremely forceful in their application. Of course, this is a challenging image for any editor’s automated correction, but this is the most wrong result I’ve seen. The majority of the ACDSee Ultimate features offered are quite conventional for image editors, but LightEQ is a one-of-a-kind lighting and contrast modification tool.
It’s tough to describe how to use the sliders in the panel easily, but you can just mouse over sections of the image and then click and drag up or down to increase or reduce the impact on the specified range of pixels. Although the automated version of the tool is likewise fairly harsh, it’s an interesting take on lighting tweaks.
You may also work on your image in the Edit module, which has more Photoshop-like functionality than other RAW editors, such as the ability to work with layers. This ACDSee Photo allows you to make picture composites, overlays, or any other form of pixel manipulation, and although this is a good feature, I thought that its implementation could need a bit more polish.
Arranged Library Organization
ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2022 has a fantastic range of organizing options, however, their arrangement is a little illogical. Three of the program’s five modules are organizing tools: Manage, Photos, and View. The ACDSee Photo Manage module is where you conduct all of your tagging, flagging, and keyword input, as well as your general library interaction. You may also perform bulk editing activities, publish your photographs to websites such as Flickr, Smugmug, and Zenfolio, and make slideshows.
With the exception of the fact that you can’t study objects at 100% zoom without moving to the ‘View’ module, I found this module to be incredibly useful and thorough, and many other RAW editors could take notes. The ACDSee 2022 ambiguously called Photos module is essentially a means to see all of your photos in chronological order, which, although fascinating, isn’t really worth its own distinct tab and offers no special capabilities other than a feeling of perspective. You can filter photographs, however, this seems like it should be part of the Manage module.
The ACDSee Ultimate View module is the sole method to see full-size copies of your photographs, and it would be far more helpful as a new way to show the ‘Manage’ module. There’s no reason why you should have to move between the two to see your photographs in full quality, especially if you’re searching through a large number of images and want to compare numerous flag possibilities at full resolution.
One thing I particularly liked about it was that it uses the embedded preview in the RAW file rather than adding any color rendering adjustments in preparation, enabling you to see how your camera would have produced the image. There’s also an unusual touch in the information presented at the bottom of the screen: the focal length recorded by the lens is appropriately displayed as 300mm in the info panel on the right. The lens length is shown as 450mm in the very bottom row, which is an exact computation of the effective focal length due to the 1.5x crop factor in my DX-format camera.
